Virginian James Madison is known as not only our 4th President, but as the father of the U.S. Constitution. Small in stature, but big in determination, he co-authored the Federalist Papers, which were instrumental in explaining the need for a strong central government, and promote the U.S. Constitution as the best model for that government. As a two-term President, Madison is best known for reluctantly declaring war on Britain in 1812. Portrayed by Terry Lynch.
