Program Description

Event Details

Get ready for this celestial event with this take home kit! It includes 2 solar viewers, information about the eclipse and prime viewing times, a “Big Sun, Small Moon” activity, and  supplies to make & decorate a case for your solar viewers so you can store them for later use at the total solar eclipse in April 2024! This kit is available in English and Spanish. Please specify language at registration.

This is a Take-and-Make Program and is available for pick up once you register and as supplies last.

These programs are made possible by SEAL, the Space Science Institute, and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.

Important: An eclipse is a rare and striking phenomenon you won't want to miss, but you must carefully follow safety procedures! The only safe way to look directly at the uneclipsed or partially eclipsed sun is through special-purpose solar filters. By registering for these programs, you acknowledge that: 1) viewing the eclipse may expose you risk of injury; 2) your participation is voluntary and you knowingly and freely assume all risks; 3) you completely release any responsibility or liability of the Prairie Trails Library for any and all injuries or damages sustained while participating.
